Ultimate Tinder Success Story
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sam had been on Tinder for over a year in search of the perfect girl with no such luck. Kaela was newly single and not looking for anything serious. As luck would have it they matched!
At first conversation, Sam thought Kaela was boring. Kaela thought it was odd that she matched with someone who has the same name as her best friend. Due to the pandemic and having nothing but time, they quickly came to realize that this wasn’t just any ‘ole fling. After just the second date, Sam knew Kaela was the one. Over the years, they have traveled to Florida, San Diego, Italy, and numerous times to O’ahu. In addition to continuing to fill up their passports, they are raising the most precious Maltipoo puppy named Biscuit.
Why Kualoa Ranch?
In what they like to call, “accelerated dating” they took their first trip to O’ahu within the first 3 months of the relationship. There, they booked their first ATV experience at Kualoa Ranch.
On July 28th, 2023 Sam decided it was time to “pop the question.” With the help of Kaela’s parents and best friend, Sam devised a plan to have a “family photo shoot” in a place that meant a lot to Kaela: her favorite place and the destination of their first vacation together.

Matched on Tinder

First date
On our first date, we got drinks and snacks at Tastea, walked around Target, took a drive in the mountains, then talked in a parking lot until 3am.

Sam made his move
He asked me to be his girlfriend on the front porch of my parents house

O'ahu together
O'ahu started to open back up again after the height of the pandemic, tickets were cheap, so we said why not! We spent Thanksgiving on the beach and rode a UTV through Kualoa Ranch!

Skiing
We started off the New Year with a day trip to Soda Springs to ski for the first time in a really long time.

After almost a year and a half, I was able to finally walk for my Bachelor's!

Disneyland
We spent the holidays in Southern California and went to Disneyland together for the first time.

Walt Disney World
We went on our annual summer trip and chose Florida, as it's a life goal of mine to visit all the Disney Parks in the world!

San Diego
Celebrated our second anniversary in San Diego and ate the best tacos in our entire lives at Taquería Los Chuchys.
- June 2023
Italy
Made our first international trip and visited 4 major Italian cities: Milan, Venice, Florence, and Rome. Little did I know, he already had the engagement ring at this point!

Engaged!
Few short weeks later we headed to O'ahu for what I thought would be a typical family trip and boy, was I wrong! He proposed, making this trip one to remember!
